The RICE Award is given to individuals and leaders who demonstrate profound awareness about community needs and step into the fray, lending a hand and making things better for the greater Atlanta community and beyond. Nominees were selected by a panel of industry professionals, community leaders and everyday citizens.
Over 100 nominees were chosen in 15 categories this year. The categories cover a variety of industry sectors, such as Beauty & Fashion, Music & Entertainment, Social Impact, Film, Arts, Education and many more. A winner will be selected in each category, the voting begins for all nominees on Monday, August 27 on the Website www.TheRiceAwards.com. According to the selection committee, our team received a HEAP load of nominations from the community. I am very thankful for such an honor and acknowledgment by our supporters, volunteers, friends and colleagues who nominated The Global Paint for Charity for this distinguished awards. This nomination recognizes how the Global Paint’s mission continues to resonate with millions of people around the world. GPC was coincidentally nominated in THE ARTS category, and who doesn’t like colors and beautiful Arts?
The challenges that face many street artists are many and it often can be very difficult to find resources and paint to support their murals and artworks, as a consequence, many artists reached out to Global Paint for paint supplies and paint donation. Even artists who are able to support themselves financially, often request paint donation to support their community murals and art projects. The cost of paint products to make arts and murals can be prohibitive to local artists who can't afford it. We are blessed to have helped many artists in Wynwood and Orlando Florida, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Atlanta to receive paint to create more beautiful murals and painting projects and effectively promote their artistic passion, show their talent and creative works.
The Global Paint for Charity
The Global Paint project was created to give each person in developing countries and those in need in the United States, we serve the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of their shelter through every gallon of recycled paint. Through our efforts, we strive to protect the environment, change lives, beautify and transform communities throughout the world. Since 2010, we have redistributed more than 200,000 gallons of paint to help with renovations and rejuvenation of family homes, homeless shelters, basic schools, churches, orphanages, and hospitals in targeted communities around the world and in many major cities right here in the U.S. and the fair market value of such donation is 7.6 million U.S. dollars.
All around the world, we can notice the immediate need of colors to bring hope and happiness in poor communities. It’s estimated that 80 percent of the third world’s homes and schools in the underprivileged communities face the dreary reality of unpainted walls, and more than 70 million children have never had access to a painted classroom. Thanks to our team hard-work and dedication, we have donated paint to support other nonprofits and projects in 34 COUNTRIES AND 40 CITIES RIGHT HERE IN THE UNITED STATES. We still have more work to do to be able to bring colors, hope, unity, peace and happiness to many other regions around the world.
While getting people and businesses to donate paint isn’t a problem but collecting, mixing, repackaging and shipping the paint requires lot of supports. With just a small monetary donation from people like you and a little help from the corporations and private firms, we can make a real difference to better livelihoods around the world. Your donation can provide buckets for repackaging the paint, cover transportation and shipping costs, or life-changing opportunities like supporting our micro-finance program. With your help, we can paint the world one gallon at a time.
