Our Team loaded the latest container with 5000 gallons to Africa

Volunteers have worked hard to load 5000 gallons of paint to West Africa, where it will be used to beautify basic schools for deprived children in the region.

It was a huge support as the year-end, our volunteers worked to load a 40ft container of paint to West Africa. The paint will be used to paint selected basic schools for deprived children in selected communities in West Africa, with plans to paint approximately 8000 Basic Schools across the region by 2025.

A team of people worked to load the latest container with 5000 gallons of paint. We had three-and-a-half hours to load the container and we got going with speed and finished under two hours.
The paint was in two different locations, and the container was loaded at the Atlanta Service Warehouse in Westside Hills, Georgia, so it was some constant moving and pretty heavy lifting. Our strength and positive spirit was knowing that the paint will help change lives. Many team members started the loading of a 24 ft. truck at our center in Norcross 6:30am and worked until the end. When we finished sweat was running down our entire bodies, but we all had smiles on our faces knowing the paint will put a smile on many deprived children’s faces in West Africa.

The container is expected to arrive in West Africa by January 15th. THIS IS THE LAST DAY TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT OF OUR ANNUAL CONTRIBUTION! Please help us continue our work by supporting us.

In order to fulfill our mission, we need funding to support paint collection efforts, storage costs, recycling costs, shipping, etc. Take action!! Donate to Global Paint for Charity and obtain a tax-deductible donation for 2016. Simply click on the following link: http://www.globalpaints.org/donate.php to submit your donation online, or you may send a check payable to Global Paint for Charity to: Global Paint for Charity, P.O. 48855, Atlanta, GA 30362. Why You Should Support The Global Paint Project?

Global Paint for Charity was launched almost 6 years ago, in March 2010, to work together with businesses, households and paint manufacturers in a collective effort to recycle post-consumer Latex paint to change lives and beautify underserved communities. It has been a long journey and amazing experience for us. We collect donations of paint from coast to coast and distribute over 120 000 gallons across 18 developing countries around the world.

 In USA
Every year, hundreds of young people are sent by the local Juvenile Court judges and High Schools throughout the Atlanta area to volunteer to paint for elderly seniors and widows who are physically and/or financially unable to paint their residence on their own including Family Homes, Recreational Centers for Women and Homeless. Other local groups have worked with The Global Paint for Charity or participate in our local paint projects and paint drives where our staff oversees and evaluates their work. Through our community service programs, we have coached, mentored and trained individuals to behave and ultimately become better workers, students and leaders in our community.

In Central America and Caribbean, over 80 churches, 48 basic schools and 200 homes got a fresh coat and touch up so far. Our volunteers paint schools and orphanages which helped save many lives, and thanks to their efforts, single mothers and young girls are able to put a layer of coating on their murals or furniture and craft products to attract local customers. The number of women starting and running their own painting businesses continue to grow everyday. So many of them used to live in poverty, they are lack abilities, education and opportunities. Our programs help the underprivileged people to launch a small paint business and assist them to realize their dreams around their world.

This year (2016) has been a great year for many things, and we want to share our thoughts with you about these exciting projects and what they will mean in the world. We have worked with our partners to help bring colors and hope to the infrastructures in West Africa through a range of projects. One of such projects is Basic Schools Beautification programs, which seeks to beautify 4500 Basic Schools in underserved communities by 2025. A number of basic schools in Ghana have received some paint from GPC to paint a total of 300 schools this year, ranging from staff common rooms, kitchen, head teacher offices, toilets, pavements, play & parade grounds, and classrooms, libraries, sport centers etc.

 In Africa
Global Paint is expanding to other West African Countries. GPC is however working with representatives in Benin, Senegal, Kenya, Mali, Nigeria Cameroon and other NGOs in West Africa to execute a range of projects to change lives and beautify essential structures of basic schools. A continent where many told us a shipment of paint could be too expensive and would never get there. Well, they were wrong. As you can see in those pictures, our partners are delivering paint to basic schools today, and the kids are so happy with the paint. And guess who is going to start painting the entire school tomorrow? The painting starts tomorrow and the kids are going to paint their school. They are very excited, and can’t wait to learn new skills, what’s a feeling, an amazing experience? Many years from today they would remember their collective effort. Stay tuned, we will post more photos soon. Help us teach them how to fish, not just feed them fish!!

We are grateful for your continued support. If you want to help our cause with your kindness, Please check our TAKE ACTION page at our website www.globalpaints.org - TAKE ACTION!! All your donations are tax deductible.

80 Volunteers Aim for a Fun Community Beautification Day of Service

More than 80 volunteers armed with paint brushes, rollers and Roller Handles, blue tapes, trays and some paint to beautify the Empire Board of Realtists building on Saturday. The Volunteers spent the first half of the day painting the exterior and interior of the building.

These volunteers from several organizations, including the United Way of Greater Atlanta and their corporate partners, Young Professional Leaders/LINC, Youth United Atlanta, Suntrust Bank, United Way Staff Members, Global Paint for Charity’s volunteers, sacrificed a Saturday morning to help make the building a brighter place.

For many young professional Leaders, it was a good opportunity to learn a new skills, team work and making a difference, others enjoy some networking time and watching the transformation of building from an old beige to a perfect gray color.
“This is the first time I painted anything, I have painted my nails, that’s it!! I really enjoy this event. I get to spend time with my friends and new people while giving back to my community" said one of the young leaders, Linda.

It's the way of educating a more beautiful and better community and showing these youth and future leaders in our community the importance of caring for their neighborhood and the less fortunate.
"In their generation and the next generation, I hope they keep painting and changing lives in the community" said a volunteer.

Thank you to the United Way of Greater Atlanta team and Staff Members donating all the supplies, The entire Atlanta Elite Construction team for providing sprayer machines and ladders, Tool Bank of Atlanta, Global Paint for Charity for donating 120 gallons of paint and conducting the event, Sherwin Williams, and Sharon Henry, 2016 President Of The Empire Board Of Realtists for providing breakfast, soft drinks, water to the volunteers, it was HOT and SUNNY on Saturday, and the drinks came very handy. We want to thank Rony Delgarde for his leadership and all of the wonderful volunteers from our organization who helped make this happen. Thank you all for your support and donations of time, paint, and other gifts. And thanks for coming out to help paint the building.

“Thank you so much for showing up and showing out. You guys did an excellent job repainting the entire exterior and interior building of the Empire board of Realtists. Words cannot express our gratitude” Said Sharon Henry, 2016 President Of The Empire Board Of Realtists.

The Empire Board of Realtists Office is where hundreds of minorities and females are learning to become entrepreneurs, small business owners, obtain financial education and become role models and leaders in our community. Many of them are very thankful for the fresh color of paint on their building.
Please show your support for Global Paint for Charity! Visit our website www.globalpaints.org and make a donation to help us recycle and provide more paint for underprivileged people in our communities not just The Empire Board of Realtists building in Atlanta but around the world.

Surinam Airways introducing first flight from ATL to Guyana

In case you missed it or did not know, it was an honor and privilege to be invited as a special guest to The Community Outreach Reception. The auspices of the Honorary Consul of Guyana for the State of Georgia, Mrs. Marva Jacobs hosted the reception in honor and celebration of the Surinam Airways introduction of its first flight from Atlanta, Georgia to Georgetown, Guyana beginning in December this year.

Also, I had the honor and privilege of sharing this nice table with Mr. Henk Fitz-jim, the Surinam Airline’s North America manager, Mrs. Marva Jacobs, the Honorary Consul of Guyana for the State of Georgia, Mr. Oscar Spencer, CEO of Guyanese American Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Krishan Bhatia, CFO of Centennial Aviation Academy, and his wife Dr. Bhatia, and Mr. Mike Singh, Chairman & Founder of The Telkomcaribe and The Demerara Charitable Foundation.

Mr. Fitz-jim said that the flight will be an excellent and convenient opportunity for the airline’s scheduled direct service to Guyana and is in response to the growing demand by the Guyanese community currently living in Atlanta. “This will be a very convenient opportunity for passengers in both directions-- So the convenience of the flights coupled with our excellent customer service and competitive fares will make Surinam Airways the first choice of Guyanese travelling to and from Atlanta, Georgia,” Fitz-Jim said.

Who knew one gallon of paint could mean everything?

Please watch the video:
Who knew one gallon of paint could mean everything?
Not only can paint brighten their days and spur creativity, but it also has a real health benefits in an age of uncertainty surrounding global outbreaks. Paint can protect against mold, bacteria and germs, the presence of which have a disproportionately negative effect on health outcomes in poorer communities. Paint can even be mixed with insecticide to stave off mosquitoes, which carry malaria and other viruses like Zika and yellow fever that kill more than 6 million people per year.

Global Paint had humble beginnings; founder Rony Delgarde was first inspired to collect paint in March 2010, when he visited Kenya and Uganda to distribute basic health supplies and nutrition kits to mothers in the refugee camps. He then found out there is a huge need for paint there. Many of the existing family tents, homes, schools, churches, and orphanages that he saw are in such a poor state of renovation and beautification that they need paint. That's where he realized the need to beautify global housing projects in the region. Rony immediately started collecting paint after that Africa trip, hoping to collect 500 gallons of paint to ship to Africa within the same year. He has gone to residences and businesses as far as North Carolina to Chicago to collect donation. And in partnership with a local Solid Waste Management in Gwinnett County, 6,000 gallons poured in in a single day, Rony immediately faced the positive problem and excitement that would spark the nonprofit’s global focus.

In the five years since, as many as 5000-to-6000 gallons of paint have been shipped at a time to 18 countries in West Africa, Central America, the Caribbean and beyond -- even places like Somalia and war-torn areas of the Middle East -- have received 100,000 gallons of paint donations from Global Paint for Charity, with Delgarde and volunteers often traveling to the countries to deliver not only the shipment itself but the organization’s heartfelt sense of support and partnership.

The paint beautifies churches, schools and homes marred by war in neglect in places that are trying to get back on their feet. Now is your chance to help us brighten more lives by contributing and donating to support the cause, as we seek to broaden our mission, using our distribution partners to deliver solar powered lamps, water and other necessities in short supply in these underserved communities. Together, we can bring hope, color, happiness, pride, encouragement, uplift the spirit of many underserved families living in slum areas and poor environmental conditions, put smiles on many faces in different continents one gallon at a time.

Share this video with a friend or colleague or family members so every media network will learn our story.
We currently have a list of communities that are still waiting for a gallon of paint to be blessed with the opportunity to brighter their lives, beautify their communities. This opportunity is a tremendous blessing to these people offering them a path for a brighter future and hope. We know the paint can't help end the cycle of poverty, hunger, and despair but it will help them lift themselves up, unit them and save their lives. If you have not yet given to our organization and want to support a worthwhile cause this year, now is the time.

Mars Hill Hardware Store in North Carolina Donated 1000+ Gallons

We are so grateful to receive a large donation of Latex Paint and monetary contribution from Mars Hill Hardware Store in Marshill, North Carolina. Mars Hill Hardware is a locally, family owned hardware, equipment rental, and appliances store “The Home Depot in Marshill” where local residents can order anything they need to complete their home repairs projects.

The company generously donated approximately 1000 gallons of new Benjamin Moore paint to support our humble cause. The paint is donated to the Hudson Hill Outreach Ministries in Chauncey Georgia. Hudson Hill Ministries is a nonprofit residential faith based Rehab treatment facility, a place of renovation, restoration and empowerment for men of various ages. They have a 60 yrs. old facility with 6 existing residential housing units as well as a full service cafeteria building and 3 multipurpose buildings. The ministries will turn all the facilities into a residential community that would house over 100 plus men and families to help them recover from drug addictions and alcohols, teach them Godly discipleship and fellowship and job training to help them recover from financial difficulties.
According to the Hudson Hill Outreach Ministries Leaders the paint is a blessing from God “Even though we consider ourselves extremely fortunate to be in these facilities, we are in desperate need of a facelift and beautification. It is our goal to see broken men lives changed for the glory of God and to provide that man with a safe, vivid, clean, and Christian environment during his time in our program.” Pete Spratlin

All of us at Global Paint for Charity want to thank the Mars Hill Hardware Store staffs, most importantly Mary Sue Jenkins, Manager who contacted us about the paint donation two weeks ago. Yesterday, the Global Paint’s founder Rony Delgarde, drove up to Mars Hill, North Carolina to collect the paint and reoffer it to the Hudson Hill Outreach Ministries Leaders who made arrangement to pick up the paint in MarsHill North Carolina.

“While it may not seem like a big deal to them, it is to us. We cannot do what we love without the support and donations from people and companies like Mars Hill Hardware Store andHudson Hill Outreach Ministries. It is a win-win to everyone!!” Rony Delgarde

Happy International Women’s Day

Today is The International Women’s Day, a wonderful occasion to celebrate and thank the wonderful women who have supported us around the world, and especially those we helped in the poorest communities in developing countries.
Since we started this organization, women and young girls are at the center of our most successful projects. In Honduras, Guinea and Haiti, we empower girls and women living in the poorest neighborhoods to paint and uplift the spirit of other women in their communities through our free paint program. And through our Paint my City’s Murals project, our volunteers paint schools and orphanages which help save many lives, and thanks to their efforts, single mothers and young girls, especially in developing countries, are able to put a layer of coating on their furniture and craft products to attract local customers. We also shipped as many as 5000-6000 gallons of paint at a time to countries in the Caribbean, Central America, the Middle East and Africa to meet the needs of their communities.
At Global Paint for Charity, we understand that the paint shortage affects many areas in the world, where communities lack even the most basic need and materials to uplift their people and empower women in urban communities. For the world’s poorest communities, home isn’t just where the heart is. Dirt walls and neglect communities are not attractive to tourists, putting those who can’t afford paint, not only at the greatest risk of life-threatening and infectious germs but also lack of economic opportunities, and women and children are the most vulnerable to these circumstances.

We can't thank you enough but there's still a lot of work to do, when we paint a classroom we empower young girls to dream big, we give them hope and passion for creativity, we empower the whole community. With your help, we’ll continue to do that for many more years to come. Please click on this link https://www.youtube.com/watch… to share this video with your wife, mother, sisters, daughters, nieces, co-workers and friends. Each time the video is shared, another person has an opportunity to make a difference in their community, and help us change lives one gallon of paint at a time. Because of very generous people like you, hundreds and thousands of family homes, schools, classrooms and orphanages are painted, and the creativity and hope for girls of being an artist would have never stood a chance. We're changing this - one gallon of paint at a time. Help us provide paint to beautify homes and schools, change lives and change the world together. www.globalpaints.orgThank you for all you do to support Global Paint for Charity!
